The fountain is composed of a series of 3 custom-designed weathering steel “Stacks” which represent Lowell’s iconic smokestacks constructed during its industrial era. Each of the Stacks is designed with slight modifications to allow water flow to be expressed differently – Pour, Spill, and Cascade.
